In exercise of his function as Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Capital Projects, Hon. Abiodun Oluwaseun has recently paid an official visit to the authority of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo. The visit was to have an on-the-spot assessment of capital projects embarked upon by the management of the institution.
In a release made available by the Special Assistant on Media Matters to the Provost, ‘Wale Adeoye, the Governor’s Aide was received by the College Management led by the Ag. Provost, Dr. Nelson Aderemi Oyewo. According to him quoting the College Ag. Chief Executive Officer in his welcome address, “Let me quickly say that this visitation at this auspicious time is by no means rare privilege and opportunity to this College against the backdrop of the fact that it is taking place in the life of this new Management Team. I am particularly delighted because to the best of my knowledge, visitation of this kind had not been made to this College for a very long period of time, which had not allowed the Governor to know the situation and happenings in the College.”
While welcoming the Special Assistant, the College helmsman expressed his profound appreciation to Governor Oluseyi Makinde for his love for the College particularly in the area of infrastructure and prompt payment of salaries. “I wish to register with profound appreciation, the unprecedented support we are enjoying from the Oyo State Government under the able leadership of our amiable and indefatigable Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde for creating an enabling environment for academic development through prompt payment of staff salary and conducive atmosphere where security of lives and properties are guaranteed.” Speaking further, the renowned Guidance Counselor “recalled with nostalgia the support enjoyed from the Oyo State Government by the College during its relocation to the permanent site at Erelu Campus as reflected in the funding of major capital projects in the College.” He restated the urgent financial need by the College from the State Government for a bail out of predicaments which include structural decay, most untarred roads in the College being damaged by erosion, collapsed perimeter fence needing urgent repair- all due to paucity of fund.
While stating that despite the paucity of funds, the College Management under his watch did not rest on its oars to ensure necessary development on campus, and the testimonies of this development could be seen and felt round our campus. “This is as a result of the support from TETFUND, on which the infrastructural development of the College has always been leveraged.” He therefore profoundly appreciated the authority of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) for its contributions to the College in the areas of Physical and human capacity development through academic conferences and workshop sponsorship, to complement the State Government’s efforts in educational development.
The College Acting Chief Executive finally appealed to His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde to find time out to visit the College for the Commissioning of these projects. “For a long time, the College has been looking forward to when His Excellency, the Governor of our state would give a nod to visiting the College to Commission some of the completed Projects on Campus and we are hopeful that as we conduct you round to see these projects, it will not be long before we play host to His Excellency to Commission these projects”, the Ogbomoso-born administrator submitted.
In his brief remarks after he was conducted round the College, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Capital Projects, Hon. Abiodun Oluwaseun commended the authority of the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo for the warm reception and particularly on the array of projects he sighted. According to him, “I am here to see for myself projects ongoing or already completed by the Management of this institution. Oyo State Government under the leadership of our amiable Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, FNSE is concerned about the educational advancement in the State. This is why our government is investing hugely on education and ensuring prompt payment of salaries.
